'Love' Card - Cuttlebug Ink Embossing

Happy Saturday!

Have you ever seen a technique or had an idea that you just HAD to try? I have - but unfortunately I have a draw FULL of those projects that either didn't work out or just never got finished. :)

BUT - not this one! I don't know if it's because I'm so over the top about the new technique I learned or just that it actually worked for me OR that I finished the project! LOL! But I think I'd have to say a little of all 3!

I discovered a video on Joys Life blog last night & it is SO cool! If you have a Cuttlebug, ink pads & embossing folders ~ or in my case I used Fiskars embossing plates ~ then you HAVE to try this! Yea I've seen this done before maybe, but for some reason it really clicked in my head this time. Plus ~ she has some pretty cool sentiment stamps to check out as well. :)

Ok - enough of that ~ here is my card!

Hubby has to go away on a trip for work this month. :(
So I made this card to give him when he gets home. Hmm... or I might hide in his suitcase before he leaves. :)

I embossed white cardstock like in Joy's video & then I took a sponge & went over lightly to color in some of the white ~ kinda grungy.
For the pocket ~ I looked for a pattern on LSHD site & guess what! I used one of the pieces in the Banners Collection! I cut it out ~ traced onto some denim. I also used a heart from Wanted for Stealing Hearts & cut around from felt. Stitched the pocket & heart by hand ~ trying to let GO of my tendency to have EVERYTHING perfectly straight & even. I stamped 'love' onto red cardstock & as I'm sure you can see - I was trying to get that 'tag' look you see on the back pocket of guys jeans. :)

I hope you enjoy my card! I will be using this ink/embossing technique ALOT I know!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Leann :)
